Good Luck Amanda!

This year, our director years, Amanda Schott, will be the Producing Artistic Director for the Pennsauken Youth Action Committee Summer Theatre. We are thrilled for this great opportunity for her and wish her the best!

Since I became the PD in 2005 I had in mind what I wanted PRT to give its members - and Amanda is a great example of that. She was a staff member here for four years and directed five of our shows. With this experience and a few years at Montclair University under her belt, she had the skills and the confidence to go to her hometown's inactive program and revitalize it.

I want every staff member to seize every possible opportunity - I will do my best to give everyone a chance. You are all capable of such great things and it thrills me to see you all find your successes!

Calling all high school sophomores/juniors

If you are heavily involved in your school musicals, or are a drama major at GCIT, then you should be with us. I'm not saying this to recruit you for my own benefit - the world of theater is incredibly competitive - and 10x's more so once you are out of school.

Young artists need opportunities - to act, to direct, to choreograph, to design, to create! We are the only company in the area that puts the work in your hands. You are free to follow your muse: choose your shows, design your sets, make it as intricate or as simple as you feel you're ready for. Need a staff? We'll get you one! Need support? We'll give it to you.

Want to direct a show and have your best friends as your staff? The application is right up there.

If you have questions about our company: contact our members by posting on our facebook. They'll tell you. This company is built around a totally different concept - getting you the experience you need to become a working profesisonal.

Fine Print:

Scholarships will be awarded for the above positions. All staff members must meet the minimum ad sales requirement. Failure to do so will affect their scholarship.

Contracts must be signed prior to first rehearsal that include job description and attendance requirements. If a student is under the age of 18, the program director must meet with the student's parents to discuss position requirements. Staff positions are not intended to replace an actual summer job, but rather to expose the student to the artistic challenges and rewards of working in the arts and to give them valuable experience beyond onstage acting roles.

Staff members can be dismissed at any time if the terms of the contract are violated. Violations of the Pitman Schools Drug and Alcohol policy are not acceptable and will be handled decisively.

Pitman Recreation Theater is supported by the

Pitman Recreation Commission, our members, and area businesses.

Without this support we could not do what we do - Thank you!
